I have had seperate operations on both sides of my pelvic area and find that whenever I sit cross-legged it stretches the scar tissue and can hurt for a couple of days. Sometimes my leg feels a little numb. Has any others had this experience and what have you did for it?

Re: Double hernia
Mon, May 12, 2008 - 12:25 AMI will suggest a couple of things that may aid you in unraveling your knot.
Sit up on a block so that you can find real space at the tops of the thighs, and a lifting action out of the pelvis.
Do only half lotus not full, as you are trying to understand the mechanics of your body not make the pose look a certain way.
Think about what is contracting and what is lengthening. The more some thing contracts the more some thing lengthens.
Try this: on a block in half lotus, raise your arms over you head using you sits bones as a grounding point or a push off point.
Also do alot of twists, lying down, sitting up, standing or inverted; but always not forced with a radical rotation in mind but like in that half lotus with your arms raised find that push off point or extension through those sits bones.
Most of all go slow, the body is elastic and will transform over time.
Hope this helps.
