I understand that you may pull knowledge and understanding from many different places however I have 2 questions.. if you can answer within the parameters of the question I'd LOVE it but if not, I will forgive : )
1.) When you first began your Yogic Journey, which text on the subject did you find most helpful. (if you'd like to break down into 2 answers for just posture & another reccomendation for the more universal / spiritual aspects that's cool)
2.) Now... if you could choose only one Yogic Text to have access to for the rest of this life, which would it be?
: )
Me? I can't answer yet.. but I'm itchin to hear yours!

Re: Most Influential Yogic Text?
Sat, July 4, 2009 - 9:40 PMOh man, I can't remember! I checked out every book in the library on the subject, and I do recall really loving this one book called "Living Your Yoga." It was definitely more focused on the spiritual principles and I was looking for spiritual help as I transitioned out of my mormon existence into a more "secular" spiritual one. It was a great book! -

Re: Most Influential Yogic Text?
Mon, July 6, 2009 - 9:20 AM1) I can't remember the name of the book, but it was a Yoga book by Tara Frasier (I remember the author). It had a simple intro and then a bunch of poses. Light on Yoga was the second ;-)
2) The Tree of Yoga by BKS Iyengar. I love how he describes everything in relation to a tree-its roots, trunk, branches, leaves, etc. That's the only one that comes to mind and, of course, there's more. Picking just one is hard!
Thanks,
-Liz
