We have 8 inchesof snow in Seattle.
Most city activities are cancelled.
I am off in a bit to walk.
My yoga/danc eto dauy will be walkign gently, appreciating the view of snow covered hills.
Tomorrow I shall put chains on my car and drive a bit.
My snow yoga shall be movement and appreciation.
Plese do a few poses for me if you get to go to a studio today.

Re: Snow Yoga
Wed, December 24, 2008 - 7:18 AMI once heard of a Yogic school where the monks didn't graduate until they could entirely melt a blanket that had been dipped in freeaing water and then completely frozen... while they meditated outdoors in the snow with the blanket wrapped around them. they had to ignite enough inner fire to do the job.

Re: Snow Yoga
Sat, January 3, 2009 - 8:03 PMI take it you're not a skier. I like the snow...once in a while. It's a good time to make popcorn or hot drinks and watch a movie or something on tv . Or, read a book, or do something around the house that maybe you've been putting off. It's sometimes really magical to take a walk when there's snow on the ground, especialy at night or in a place where there are a lot of trees. It's always much quieter with snow on the ground, and the cold air on your face can be refreshing. The occasional snowball can be fun too.

Re: Snow Yoga
Thu, December 25, 2008 - 5:36 AMSomeone told me that story after I stood for half an hour in the snow during a prayer meditation in the woods. I was pretty high... and my feet were totally fine when we got back... but I needed to hear of something more extreme, cause it ws rather boundaryless... like 'if I can do this...' -

Thu, December 25, 2008 - 5:38 AMI was only kidding.
Please realize that.
I have been snowbound for 7 days.
A little joke squeezed out.
Merry Christmas

Thu, December 25, 2008 - 5:53 AMmaybe if you tried sitting in the snow with a wet frozen blanket it would be more fun?
