I know this is kind of random, but I just wanted to share this funny tidbit because of how much laughter it has brought into my life!

I have a yoga cat, every time I start doing yoga my cat joins me and it is adorable. He will lay and stretch and purr with me for over an hour. Then I noticed recently, when ever I do bellows breath he gets SO excited and jumps all over the place, purrs and wants to play... HILARIOUS! It must be some sort of communication form to him, because just tweaks out everytime.

I ought to put up a video of it sometime!

Just wanted to share with you all, does anyone else have pets that like to do yoga? Or that react in this funny way to the pranayamas?

My dog, when he was still around, used to nudge right in against my shins each day when I began my sitting and become at peace with himself as long as I remained, and that's saying a lot for a generally manic, out-of-control-much-of-the-time Dachshund.

"downward dog"! My dogs a big fan of that move. she did it yesterday before i started. yoga is a breath for her spirit too I bet. I share a strong connection with my cat also, but he doesn't partake in the yoga, I'd call him more of a buddhist.

There's a cat who hangs around my apartment and watches me through the patio doors. One day, as she saw me open up the blinds in front of the doors, she did a downward dog, just to show me that she knows what's up.

The originators of yoga there in the jungles of north iNDIA. got plenty of ideas form animals -- dog, cobra, cat, pigeon, fish, locust, crow, all had asanas named after them. Each animal has variations -- both hig, and low. Like upward dog and downward dog
